In the first part, about the Spanish Empire, you left out Puerto Rico and Guam -with Cuba and the Philippines, the remaining colonies of that empire after the wars of independence. Spain lost all of them in 1898, as a result of the war with the United States, and were the main subjects of the Treaty of Paris. As a result of that treaty, Spain relinquished its sovereignty over Cuba and ceded the Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico to the US. 122 years thereafter, Guam and PR are still colonies of the US.
